Is it easier to dunk an alley oop or just dunk?

Dunking on an alley oop is easier when just practicing. All you have to do is have someone throw it up then you catch it and slam it down. Where as when you're trying to do just a dunk, you have more weight when going up and requires more coordination to put the ball in the basket. But in an actual game, obviously a regular dunk is easier to execute considering you don't have to worry about the timing or the right situation to not get it turned over in an alley oop.
