It sounds like it is healing. If it develops more pus, you develop a fever, or chills go to the doctor for a thorough cleaning and antibiotic. At this point you need to wait for it to fully heal before putting the 10 back in though or you risk getting it infected again. Clean with sea salt and water, things like alcohol or peroxide will kill good cells along with bad ones. I think you have the right idea. Please please watch for signs of another infection, though.
