Why do we see brutal attacks against education for girls and women only in Muslim countries?

Respect for women and women's right in the middle east is not the best to say the least. However, some countries are more progressive than others. The Taliban represents a small minority of Muslim fanatics. The vast majority of Muslims do not believe as the Taliban do. As time goes on things will get better, and in fact some things have already changed for the better, but some countries have a long way to go yet.
