Can you get Whooping Cough (Pertussis) more than once?

I had whooping cough last year (when I was 11) and around the same time this year I am getting the symptoms and a few of my close friends ( who I spend a lot of time with ) have it or have gotten it very recently. Is it possible that I have it again? Oh and I don't think I've ever been vaccinated for it. Thanks a lot.
